A Better opportunity:

Better.com is seeking a growth-oriented, highly strategic, and analytical social media lead. This team lead will lead all aspects of our organic social media strategy -  you are the perfect mix of strategic and scrappy - you use research and insights to inform your ideas, but can also react to new concepts and quickly setup tests to successfully reach new and existing customers. 

You’ll be given a lot of responsibility early on: your ambition, ability to juggle multiple projects, and high attention to detail will be crucial to your success on this team. The ideal candidate has natural curiosity and a strong analytical mindset with a focus on outcomes and pushing things across the finish line. It’s not about getting it right, but it is about putting process in place to know when something isn’t working. 

The ideal candidate knows a little bit about a number of marketing channels, but can go deep in organic social platforms and know how they are similar, different, and contribute to overall business goals.This person is clever and witty, culturally savvy, and understanding of new trends happening in social media and content creation. In this role you will be accountable for defining and owning our social media strategy, our community management strategy and associated goals, results and reporting. 

To be successful this person will partner closely with internal creative teams to develop and create valuable content that drives results. In addition to content development this person will also work closely with product teams to ensure that we are meeting our top level business goals while advocating for the client. 

This role has a unique opportunity to make a large impact across many areas of a fast growing start-up -  success is contingent on deeply understanding client needs, being data curious, and leading with influence.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and iterate on Better's short and long-term social media and community management strategies driving agreed upon KPIs 
  • Optimize performance across owned channels: LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Pinterest 
  • Lead our content strategy, process and vision for social channels focused on developing content that is relevant to our business and valuable for refinancers, homebuyers, and real estate agents  
  • Analyze web traffic and relevant community metrics; auditing, reporting and collaborating on social intelligence and social listening data  to identify new content opportunities and areas for optimization
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and other teams to establish voice, tone, personality and content to drive growth and engagement across all social media platforms and external review sites
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing team on paid acquisition campaigns and ensure a successful marriage of paid and organic strategies
  • Translate complex processes and concepts into digestible, easy to understand content pieces that drive increases in following, engagement, and click-through rate

About You:

  • 5-7 years of experience in social media marketing
  • Marketing experience in finance, lending, real estate, tax, or complex processes 
  • Deep experience in growing organic social media channels - experience across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube is essential.
  • Ability to tie platform metrics to business goals and communicate how success in platform equates to success to business goals 
  • Experience growing and managing a team of functional experts with a focus on professional development and growth for direct reports 
  • Ability to work in a highly cross-functional environment to drive stakeholder alignment and scaled communications

  • Strong analytical skills to review data, interpret results, and turn insights into actionable and measurable strategies
