Namely is seeking a talented Technical Writer to join the product enablement team and help build a library of client-facing documents from the ground up. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for building out a style guide and standardizing product how-tos, best practices and FAQs across the Namely platform. The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative environment and be comfortable pivoting between different projects and wearing multiple hats.

The Technical Writer will report to the Manager of Product Enablement. In addition to working within the Enablement team, you’ll be working with other cross-functional teams that include Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. This position will have a substantial impact on the organization and be stakeholder in shaping Namely’s knowledge base and brand voice!

Responsibilities:

  • Write, publish, and maintain engaging user guides, articles, and online help content for different audiences including end-users and administrators.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to research, plan, and produce technical content.
  • Test documentation against the platform to ensure completion and accuracy.
  • Assess future needs of online documentation vis a vis changes in functionality, usage patterns of online help, and so forth.
  • Develop other ad-hoc documentation as needed such as external communication on feature enhancements, process documentation to help support internal colleagues as well as writing lesson and course descriptions for LMS content and training scripts for ‘live’ Webinars and elearnings.

Requirements:

  • Ability to write end-user documentation.
  • Experience in the HRIS space is desirable.
  • Good understanding of web technologies.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesforce knowledge preferred.
  • Self-starter capable of thriving in a startup environment.
  • Applicable degree (English, Computer Science, Information Systems).
  • Demonstrable writing skills, including relevant samples.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing or product/developer documentation, including writing technical client-facing materials.
  • At least 1 year working on enterprise level projects.
