We are seeking a technically savvy Natural Gas Analyst to enhance our coverage of the US natural gas and related markets (power, emissions or renewables, and global LNG). You will need to have proven experience and knowledge of the relevant energy market focus, enabling you to take on an array of responsibilities. You will play a central role in our service and contribute to our broader energy analysis.

The successful candidate will play an active role in carrying out detailed analysis on the chosen US energy market focus, including tracking and forecasting policy developments, building and maintaining databases and models, and forecasting supply, demand and prices in those markets.

Our clients value our views and insights, so you will be helping to shape forward-looking views and not just conducting historical analysis. Ideally, you will already have a record of accomplishment in accurately forecasting developments in commodity markets.

You will be expected to consistently produce work at a high enough standard to send out to our demanding client base. You will be working within our power and gas markets team in the US, but also with our global analysis team and across different product lines as we analyze the natural gas and power markets and the effect of the ongoing energy transition. We pride ourselves on our product and are meticulous about maintaining a high standard of accuracy across our services.

This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation within the industry and are supported by some of the most well-regarded energy sector commentators. You will be able to work independently, as well as be capable of planning and prioritising to achieve success. In exchange, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture, with challenging and exciting work.

Duties• Supporting the Head of North America Gas in developing US, regional, and other North American gas market views.• Running and enhancing our daily and weekly flow models and helping forecast Henry Hub and regional basis pricing.• Writing succinct analysis to a high standard of written English and with adherence to the house style.• Continuously expanding our network of contacts to exchange market information.• Presenting to clients and prospects to deliver our views.

Requirements• Solid experience analysing regional gas and power markets.• A deep understanding of the US gas markets gained in a research, trading, or similar capacity.• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.• Substantial experience of handling large amounts of data, in excel and other software.• Excellent written English.• Strong presenting and oral communication skills.

Desirable skills• Knowledge of gas pipeline and infrastructure, and related flow data.• Python or other relevant data experience.• Prior experience summarizing views and forecasts in writing.
