POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an “Associate Manager, Product” you will play a vital role in leading the definition, deployment and optimization of StrongArm products for our end customers, which are materials handling, logistics, transport, manufacturing companies and insurers / brokers. 

In this role you will manage multiple projects to ensure successful, high-quality delivery of IoT-related, data science, and software improvements. You will constantly be thinking about and looking for opportunities to improve, optimize, and expand on our platform stability, reliability, and user experience at every touchpoint in the value chain. You will work alongside and report directly to the Chief Product Officer. Additionally, this role requires client facing capabilities to troubleshoot, diagnose, and deliver solutions to customer issues directly and ensure translation to and from the internal engineering organization.

The ideal candidate for this position must exhibit the ability to breakdown complex problems, analyze the different factors, synthesize a lot of information, and be able to deliver a technical product to market on-time and in scope. There will be a requirement to have ruthless prioritization, being able to understand various inputs from business and commercial needs and blending them into the product output. The ability to communicate and collaborate across technical, commercial, and business functions are absolutely key.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Delivery of projects with quality and team awareness:

  • Define timelines, tasks, and critical path issues to ensure seamless / successful implementation, monitoring and management to ensure quality project completion, on time and on scope.
  • Collaborate extensively with designers, data scientists, and engineers to understand technical implementation complexities, identify challenges, and find ways to resolve them.
  • Jointly managing project teams with functional leads to sizing work, tracking progress and measuring execution.
  • Coordinate and manage releases to mitigate internal and external risk by owning QA for feature release to production.


Platform Reliability, Stability, and User Experience / Delight advocate:

  • Work closely with end users and client teams to understand, define, and articulate field issues and develop solutions.
  • Detailing precise measures of success, clear test plans, and articulating “why this body of work over another” with data driven or evidence based decisions.
  • Measure impact and iterate on existing products with an eye towards various key product and business KPIs such as customer issues, support tickets, SLA, and reliability across our entire platform stack (sensor, dock, web).
  • Help the Chief Product Officer maintain the product roadmap, prioritize backlogs, develop feature lists, and collaborate independently with customers and user needs to inform engineering sprints.


Key Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year + of product and/or project management experience preferably enterprise SaaS or with an IoT, wearable with big data analytics.
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Marketing / Communications or equivalent preferred
  • Understand Design-Thinking with an eye towards user experience and user empathy
  • Strong talent for multi-tasking and managing competing priorities effectively.  Highly organized and incredible attention to details.
  • Demonstrated success in translating complex qualitative and quantitative customer feedback into successful products/features/solutions
  • Ability to identify and assess customer issues and work collaboratively across various technical and client teams to resolve issues creatively and swiftly.
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire and capability to present new concepts, ideas and offers to various stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Self-directed, yet strong team player. 
  • Understands various product / project management tools and processes
