Latch’s mission is to create the world’s protocol for creating and sharing access. Our family of hardware and software products allows people to digitally access and manage their homes and buildings.

We’re looking for people to help us solve the hardest access problems of the future. How will buildings effortlessly manage hundreds of employees, tenants, guests and vendors? How will people shop and trust their packages will arrive safely? How will residents share their homes with friends and trusted services? How can we open doors to new experiences more easily and more securely?

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer research to help identify customer pain points and help teams understand and interpret what people problems caused them
• Facilitate processes for cross-functional, product and engineering teams to holistically solve people problems and synthesize these solutions into powerful conceptual ideas
• Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant
• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
• Help develop and maintain user interface guidelines
• Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality
• Partner with PMs, engineers, designers and marketing to oversee the user experience of a product from conception through implementation

Minimum qualifications

• Communication skills
• Demonstrated strategic product thinking and vision
• Experience in building and shipping applications or software
• Must have URL featuring examples of interaction design work
• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design

Preferred qualifications

• 2+ years of application design
• 2+ years of visual design
• 2+ years of interaction design
• Experience designing software for hardware products
