Product Designer
At White Ops, we’re all hackers. This doesn’t mean you have to hold a key to the internet (although one of our founders does!), but it does require approaching problems in unconventional ways. We are attacking criminal botnets through the ad fraud that finances their operations. Our proprietary technology detects and prevents sophisticated online fraud. By reducing the incentives for crime, we are making the internet a better place. Our mighty team of humans have several things in common:
We are hackers.
We create tau for ourselves and each other.
We think big and move fast.
We practice humility.
We “pwn it”.
What we do:
We keep the internet safe by fighting organized cybercrime. Our products accurately detect and prevent even the most sophisticated bots and our customers include some of the web's largest and most forward-thinking companies.
Our team of engineers is friendly, curious, driven, and highly collaborative. We support one another and regularly hold code reviews to facilitate learning and reduce friction during our 2-week releases. We strive for clean and readable code. Our engineers also work closely with other teams in the company, including creative, product, and customer support.
What you'll do:
As our Product Designer, you will join the growing User Experience and Interface (UXI) team as a key player in shaping the visual and interactive experience of our web-based analytics dashboard that our customers use to identify and mitigate sources of sophisticated online fraud. Our philosophy is that design is in all the visible and invisible details we create together. We are the bridge across multiple departments--collaborating with customers, account managers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders on a regular basis. Over the past two years, we have built a flexible, Integrated Research and Design Process that employs Participatory Design techniques to iteratively design with stakeholders, while also syncing with the agile engineering sprint cycle. You will play an active role in scaling the process and leading the design efforts for new projects that expand White Ops’ impact and our mission to protect the Internet.

- Join forces with developers to understand how they will bring your designs to life based on your high-fidelity prototypes and detailed functional requirements

Who you are:
- A portfolio of demonstrated ability to solve complex design challenges. Case studies should include descriptions of: the design problem and goals; your design process for tackling the problem; and the end result
- Design experience creating useful, usable, and beautiful design solutions
- Passion for designing all elements of the user experience: functionality, interactions, the interface, and beautiful pixels
- The ability to develop and manage a library of design patterns, and implement consistently across a product
- Some knowledge of HTML and CSS
- A degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Visual Design, or related field is preferred for this position, though exceptions can be made
Nice to haves:
- Experience designing with Sketch and prototyping with InVision
- Knowledge of participatory design techniques to elicit design requirements from stakeholders.
- Interest in or knowledge of designing information visualizations
- Experience designing in an iterative, agile environment

- Defined your personal tour of mastery at White Ops
- Strengthened your user research methods through collaborating with the team lead
