We’re looking for a digital Product Designer to join the Domio product team in our Manhattan office. Our design and product teams care deeply about human-centered design solutions and building a world-class brand. We wear many hats, looking holistically at the end-to-end user experience, and thinking thoroughly through every detail of the interfaces created and stories told. We are adaptable; we think long-term but act quickly. We collaborate across disciplines, working closely with project managers, developers, brand & interior designers, guest services, marketing, and hospitality teams. We are a young company focused on building a product process that is data-driven, collaborative, iterative, ownership-focused, and adaptable. We’re looking for a candidate who is comfortable with and excited about joining a team where they can make a visible impact.
The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and user-focused design, possess excellent UX and UI skills, and be able to translate high-level requirements into user-friendly, accessible flows and beautiful and functional user interfaces. We’re looking for someone who is more well versed in UI but is also comfortable stepping in during the UX stage.
At Domio You Will:
- Build beautiful, intuitive and empathetic interfaces for our users
- Execute a variety of UI and UX tasks—working from requirements, wireframes, user flows, existing UX patterns and UI kits
- Work closely with the product design lead to build and maintain a robust, well-tested, and on-brand UI system across the Domio brand
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visual design and experience
- Present and contextualize designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders with the goal of achieving buy-in
- Advocate for the end-user, informing product strategy while delivering exceptional concepting, prototypes, and visual designs
- Design both customer facing and internal systems interfaces
- Annotate comps, mock-up interactions, and provide assets for hand-off to development
- Facilitate user research and evaluate user feedback
- Ensure quality of shipped products by conducting design QA
- Contribute to the design and product team culture through thought leadership and collaboration
Who You Are:
- 2+ years of product design experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual design skills and thorough understanding of user-system interactions and UX best practices
- Keen understanding of typography, color, brand, and layout
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Ability to present and contextualize your process and solutions to peers and stakeholders
- Imaginative and fast thinking with the ability to create engaging designs that communicate, inform, and solve user problems
- Proficiency in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, and other industry standard prototyping tools (Principle, Flinto, Pixate, etc)
- Comfortable working with business requirements / KPI’s, wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site-maps
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to facilitate communication with the engineering team
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum process
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fluid environment, handling a variety of assignments and timelines
- Comfortable taking on tasks that push you out of your comfort zone and learning by doing
- Adept at working in a collaborative environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with branding and digital marketing is a huge plus
- BA or certification in communication design, design technology, product design, UI/UX design, computer science or visual art is preferred
