The Role: 

We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead an autonomous team of software developers, designers, QA engineers, and data analysts in the area of Planning and Instruction. The Planning and Instruction team is focused on helping teachers organize their instructional content stay organized and plan rich learning experiences for their students. The experience of using Newsela for teaching and learning should be beautiful, empowering, and fun. As Product Manager, you will be part of a highly collaborative team working to develop a strategy and roadmap for how teachers and students will engage with Newsela’s product in the classroom and throughout the school year.

An experienced Product Manager, you’ve spent 4-5 years blending multiple inputs (product data, interviews, surveys, user research, and competitive analysis) into a coherent product strategy and roadmap. You have an intuitive understanding of what makes great products, and don’t limit your interests to digital. You also enjoy working closely with designers and developers to create beautiful, intuitive interface design. A fanatic for organization, you love helping others stay organized during long, complex projects. You may even have worked in education, or are keen to dig into this world and learn what it takes to empower teachers to do what they do best - inspire their students to want to learn.
