The MLB Product Team is currently seeking an experienced Product Manager to build Personalized Experiences across its Digital Products. This position will be focused on identifying high impact touchpoints with our fans, defining and executing the strategies for enabling content and experience personalization to drive fan engagement. This role will also play a key role in defining the success metrics, enabling A/B testing and measuring the outcomes to ensure the best in class experiences for our millions of fans, in their day to day interactions with baseball across various products and channels.

Prior experience in digital marketing / online retail or content personalization in the context of consumer facing products is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Product Management for Personalization with a focus on high impact touchpoints which will enable personalized content, experiences and offers to our fans at the right time and right place
  • Define the business requirements for personalized journeys by collaborating with partner teams at MLB across product, marketing and technology organizations
  • Work with key stakeholders across the company to prioritize high value features and build consensus
  • Create and manage features, roadmaps, day to day planning activities and rollouts by effectively partnering with other groups within MLB
  • Effectively support the product design, engineering and QA teams throughout sprint cycles by proactively removing roadblocks
  • Maintain a strong focus on experience consistency and quality given its reach to millions of fans
  • Build and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders across MLB
  • Keep a pulse on the sports media industry, including best practices and trends to create best-in-class products

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, supporting consumer facing products
  • Analytical background with the ability to analyze large scale data sets using Python, R, SQL, etc
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven experience in owning projects through to completion, from requirements gathering through rollout and training
  • Self-starter who is energetic & enthusiastic, confident, adaptable & fan-oriented
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies including such as scrum or kanban
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a cross-functional team
  • Fortitude to remain calm and react appropriately in high-pressure situations

Highly Qualified Applicants will have:

  • A love of baseball
  • Prior experience in content / experience personalization for a consumer facing product
  • Background in enabling rapid A/B testing that resulted in product improvements
  • Hands on data analytics experience in digital marketing, personalization, app / web domain
