ROLE: 

Saavn is looking for an experienced and passionate product manager to join our core Product team in New York, NY. You’ll report directly to the Chief Product Officer, and lead or help lead, efforts around our existing web and mobile web products, future desktop platforms, web-based tools, and overall product management and development.

You’ll need to work directly with other Product Managers, as well as engineers and designers, to spec, develop, and iterate projects around all edges of our web products, as well as work with other groups to understand their wants and needs. You should continuously and obsessively champion good user experience, design, performance, and efficiency. You should eat data for breakfast, be the voice of users and teams who aren’t in the room, keep digging past the surface until you understand the real problem, and have a smart, delightful solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Work with engineers and designers to develop and maintain the roadmap for web, mobile web, and desktop projects.
• Lead the scope, spec, and management of features, projects, and products, with a focus on communicating context and vision.
• Continually work towards parity with native mobile clients and the full Saavn product family.
• Drive and monitor any and all metrics around web product usage – particularly overall engagement and growth.
• Continuously analyze data and feedback to identify both problem areas and opportunities.
• Help lead the product team’s organization and process to continuously become more efficient, transparent, and predictable.
• Work with designers and engineers to deliver the simplest, best, and most beautiful user experience in the market.
• Question everything and never settle.
• Lead projects from early analysis and problem statement, through concept and launch, post-launch analysis, iteration and improvement, and communication of results. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5+ years of product management experience, building and shipping consumer products.
• Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Deep technical understanding of large-scale systems and products, and strong ability to communicate effectively in highly technical conversations.
• An equally strong ability to effectively communicate information, requests, issues, and resolutions to and from non-technical teams.
• Strong understanding of web technologies and various approaches to web and mobile web development – both front and back-end.
• Ability to influence decision-making the right way, with compassion, context, and transparency.
• A bias towards great and simple design, blazing fast performance, and clean execution.
• Strong experience and understanding of agile methodologies, and when (and how) it’s okay to break them.

BONUS SKILLS:

Ideally, you’ll also excel at least a few of the following:

• Design, typography, layout, and/or animation.
• Native mobile client development.
• Front- or back-end development.
• Analytics, data science, and complex querying.
• User research and analysis.
