CardFlight is looking for a VP of Product Management to build upon our successful existing product set and lead the launch of additional new products that are used daily by over 60,000 small businesses. In this role, you’ll be defining and communicating product roadmaps and working cross-functionally across teams within the company to move from idea to execution to scale. The VP of Product Management will report directly to the CEO and manage a small team of product managers. 

This position is based in our New York City office. We are open to working with you through a relocation, but are not open to remote candidates.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy (30%)

  • Own the product roadmap with a focus on customer/client expectations to help define new functions and features
  • Drive prioritization of large product initiatives to ensure development resources are focused on highest value items on the product roadmap
  • Evaluate market opportunities and utilize research to position/reposition our products to best capture them
  • Communicate the strategy and roadmap to internal and client stakeholders in ways that obtain their excitement and support

Product Development and Design (60%)

  • Manage the execution of the entire product development lifecycle from concept through launch and beyond
  • Break down the overall product strategy and roadmap into specific components that you delegate or own yourself
  • Oversee the design of elegant and simple user-facing flows and interfaces
  • Work closely with and coordinate the needs of other stakeholder groups (customers, customer service, sales, marketing, engineering, finance, etc.) in a way that balances needs, sets and manages expectations, and leads to successful and timely results
  • Lead, delegate and supervise the work of product managers on your team in a way that leads to high quality outcomes and growth/retention of team members

Team Engagement (10%)

  • Lead by example in contributing to a strong company culture and high-performing collaborative working environment
  • Be a strong leader and member of our senior leadership team in driving company wide initiatives and objectives, and contributing to personal growth of all team members
  • Become immersed in the payments industry

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • 5-10+ years of experience working with the full lifecycle of software development
  • 3-5+ years of product management experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company
  • Strong written/formal communication skills
  • Excellent ability to manage expectations and communicate with different stakeholders on their terms
  • A customer-centric focus and attitude
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • People management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience  

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the payments arena, financial services or the financial technology sector
  • Experience creating product design deliverables for both mobile- and web-based applications
  • Experience on the leadership team of a growth stage, Venture Capital or Private Equity-backed technology company
  • Experience as a hiring manager in setting and managing department organization (skill and experience mix, role definition, etc)
  • Experience collaborating with business development, sales, and engineering teams to bring new enterprise products to market
  • Product management experience with retail technology, SMB software, or enterprise software/SaaS 
  • Engineering degree and/or MBA would be a strong plus
