OVERALL SUMMARY:
VICELAND’s Program Strategy Department is seeking a Research Manager to join the Strategic Insights & Research team. This team is responsible for developing audience insights through a variety of linear TV, digital and social media data sources. The ideal candidate possesses forward-thinking analytical skills with a strong background working with linear, digital and social media data. Must be a strong presenter with impeccable attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create deep insights into our audience and content performance in the linear, digital and social media landscapes
- Establish strong relationships with Brand Marketing, Program/Scheduling and the broader VICE insights teams
- Work closely with Sales and manage their requests through strong communications and efficient reporting
- Serve as an expert on VICELAND franchises, their target audiences, behavior and content consumption across all screens to key internal stakeholders
- Work with the Sr. Director of Strategic Research to establish best practices for multiplatform research analysis and reporting
- Ideate and execute strategic projects based on needs of key stakeholders
- Perform research projects and targeted studies as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 5+ years experience in media research and analytics at an entertainment, digital content or similarly aligned company
- Impeccable organization, written/oral communication skills, and attention to detail is critical
- Knowledge of the digital media space and new technology platforms as relates to VICE Media in general and TV specifically
- Experience using linear and non-linear analytic tools such as: Nielsen, comScore, Google Analytics, Canvs, Netbase or similar tools
- Self-starter with the capacity to deliver on multiple projects, take direction while also contributing new ideas and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends and make insightful recommendations
- Experience mentoring and training a research staff
- A passion for research, entertainment, popular culture, the world around you, the VICE brand and the business of TV
- Comfort in a startup type culture where no task is too big or too small
- Must be able to work in Brooklyn, NY
