The Role
As a senior developer on Teamstand’s R&D team, you will work closely with other engineers, product managers and designers to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap. You will build scalable services with strong design principles in the cloud environment. You will participate in refining requirements, building solutions and shipping customer-facing features. As the product matures, you’ll recruit and develop the team that catalyzes our engineering team globally.
This position will be based on NYC headquarters with occasional travel to other locations to collaborate with the team.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Design and develop scalable software with Java/Kotlin programming languages
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders like Product teams, Design teams and peer developers for translating user requirements to product features
- Identify and drive changes to uphold engineering best practices
- Self-driven and works with minimal or no supervision
- Owning and supporting production environments
- Optimize applications for speed, security and maintainability
What type of experience will likely be helpful? We're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience with expertise in Java/J2EE (Spring, MyBatis), Kotlin and good understanding of web technologies
- Experience with one of the cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack
- Expertise in writing optimized SQL queries and a passion for writing performance-driven applications
- Experience building web applications focusing on quality, maintainability and reliability
- Experience building large-scale web applications focusing on Microservices, Integrations, Caching, API development, Security, etc.,
- Strong CS Fundamentals with problem solving skills
Additional ‘Good to haves’
- Familiarity with Linux development environment
- Exposure to modern front-end technology stack
- Exposure to other programming languages is a plus
- Exposure to agile development
