What We Do
As a member of our IT team, you will assist with evaluating Calm's technical needs and developing solutions to help meet business goals and solve problems. You will identify, develop, and execute solutions for Calm's business applications and systems, corporate infrastructure components, and integrations. You'll play an active role in defining IT-related project requirements and work with development teams to design and modify systems architecture, create software solutions, and integrate solutions with existing systems.
We are hiring remote workers for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or NYC areas. At this time, only candidates in these locations will be considered.
What You'll Do
An experienced IT Engineer with a seasoned background in technical support and information systems management, including implementation, monitoring, and maintenance. You will be a crucial player in the planning and management of system migrations during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring Calm's commitments to regulatory security and compliance frameworks are not compromised. You'll work heavily with Engineering, Operations, Security, HR, and IT to make the whole organization more efficient.

  • In collaboration with the team, manage separate IT ecosystems with different security postures, policies, and procedures
  • Manage communications and projects across multiple organizations
  • Identify and plan around integration interdependencies
  • Strategize and establish effective decommission and migration project plans for existing systems and functionalities
  • Contribute to the development, alignment, and management of IT-related policies, procedures, and processes that:
    • support a connected and flexible ecosystem;
    • adhere to regulatory requirements;
    • and operate in a common, secure, and compliant environment.
  • Procatively identify areas for improvements and develop technology solutions to meet business needs and solve business problems
  • Utilize a hands-on approach with a strong bias for action
  • Executes with focus and advocacy for the end-user experience


Who You Are

  • Experience and involvement in mergers and acquisitions
  • Experienced with administering SaaS services (e.g. Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom)
  • Experienced with harnessing the power of APIs
  • Deep knowledge and experience with:
    • Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jira, and other common SaaS applications
    • Cloud infrastructure services, specifically AWS and GCP
    • Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, and other MDM solutions
    • Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting tools (e.g. Sumo Logic, Data Dog, Stackdriver, etc.)
    • Identity and Access Management using Okta, and SAML / SCIM provisioning
    • Okta Workflows, Zapier, or other automation platforms
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Extremely strong attention to detail
  • Passion for quality and security
  • Able to establish and meet specific end-state goals and deadlines
  • Able to efficiently handle ambiguity and appropriately prioritize competing projects


Minimum Requirements

  • This role typically requires 8+ years of related experience
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in IT Solutions Architect or IT Engineer roles


The anticipated salary range for this position is $155,500 - $217,700. The base salary range represents the low and high end of Calm's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
