Sr. Manager, Solution Architect- Workday
People Tech is leading the way in delivering delightful, consumer-grade experiences for our Human Resource teams. As a Senior Manager, Workday Solution Architect on the team, you will be contributing to the engineering efforts using a variety of technologies to deliver amazing product features design/implementation that align with our strategic vision for our candidate and associate experiences.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership for designing and implementing critical technology solutions on the Workday platform. In addition to working with an integrated Partnerships business, technology and operations team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to architecture across broader Enterprise teams, which are tightly integrated throughout Partnerships on the Workday solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development and architecture of Workday solutions, including HCM, Finance, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensations and other modules to support business processes and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the requirements, architecting the solution and configuring the Workday platform.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Design and implement integrations between Workday Finance and other modules, ensuring seamless data flow and integration points.
  • Implement the Workday solution to support the multiple countries and ensure the design supports compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to evaluate new features, functionality, and enhancements within the Workday ecosystem.
  • Lead and participate in system configuration, customization, and testing activities to ensure successful deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance on functional configuration automation and deployment preferably with OX 2.0.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including technical designs, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides.
  • Implement the security requirements within the Workday that supports the data tokenization and other compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate the machine learning/AI use cases and ensure that AI usage is based on the safety and compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of Workday Solutions Architecture experience in Workday HCM, Finance, or other modules.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Workday Studio, Workday Integration Cloud, EIBs, and other integration tools.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design
  • At least 5 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
  • Workday certifications (such as Workday Certified Integration Consultant) are highly desirable
  • Experience with Workday configuration, customization, and implementation best practices .
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations
  • 8+ years of experience architecting, designing, and/or delivering delivering scalable and decoupled systems in a heavily regulated technology environment
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations
  • Experience to engaging, influencing and driving initiatives by partnering with technology executives
  • Experience mentoring software engineers or architects
  • Experience in a regulated environment (HIPAA, PCI, Privacy, etc)
  • AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate, GCP or Azure)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $234,700 - $267,900 for Sr. Manager, Solution Arch
San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $248,700 - $283,800 for Sr. Manager, Solution Arch
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
