As we embark on this exciting journey, we are looking for our first technical hire - an AI Engineer, to help lay the foundation of our AI-powered news platform.

Role Overview: As our AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological backbone of our platform. You will be responsible for developing and fine-tuning the language model (LLM) that powers our AI-generated content. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation, working closely with our founders to define the technical direction of our product.

We don't expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect you to have a passion for AI and a drive to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and fine-tune language models for AI-generated news content, making foundational choices about which LLM model to adopt and fine-tune for our services.
• Collaborate with the founding team to define and prioritize technical requirements for our platform.
• Build and maintain scalable infrastructure for deploying and managing AI models.
• In collaboration with our PM, lead all our AI prompting engineering work.
• Conduct research and experimentation to improve the performance and capabilities of our AI models.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers and product managers to integrate AI-generated content seamlessly into our platform.

Qualifications:

• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, AI, or a related field is preferred, not required.
• Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning techniques.
• Experience with training and fine-tuning both licensed and open-source large language models.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to tackling technical challenges.
• Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
