Business Analyst

We are looking for a generalist with rock-solid analytical skills who is looking to have an impact at a high-growth startup. You’ll work closely with the NYC-based US marketing and product teams, ensuring that your analysis and insights translate into meaningful outcomes and a better experience for our customers. Your success will directly impact our ability to grow into the #1 money transfer company in the US.
So, what’s the role? A good mix of business operations and pragmatic analysis
- Team Planning and Performance Tracking — you will help drive the planning, budgeting and performance tracking processes for the North America team, which is distributed across four offices. This involves (a) building & maintaining dashboards, (b) projecting & sharing monthly product and growth updates, (c ) creating decks that clearly communicate plans, progress and learnings
- [Product — the team scopes, builds and ships product changes and new features regularly. You will be heavily involved in this process, using data to help the team evaluate and prioritize opportunities, set up AB tests, define success metrics, track their performance, run ad hoc analyses, and communicate learnings.]
- Marketing -- the team is constantly testing new marketing approaches. You’ll use data to help the team understand and improve performance, identify major trends that we can action. You’ll be helping our growing marketing team take our data-driven approach to the next level. We’re not just looking for someone who's good with data - you’ll need to develop an understanding of how growth through marketing works, and be able to coach and steer the whole team to look at the right numbers and draw good conclusion.
- Customer Insights — you will work with our existing customer insights lead to understand our current and potential customers, digging into the quantitative data from survey results and combining it with other data sources. Based on your work, you’ll share actionable insights with the wider team.
What traits, skills and experience do I need?
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including building models/dashboards. Looker, Google Analytics, SQL, Python knowledge a plus.
- Track record of using data to form insights and produce business wins through iteration/testing
- Ability to own projects start to finish including clear communication with stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills - you can summarise the complex, and present data visually in a way that makes people say “got it!”
- You go beyond the numbers and understand the why behind it
- 1-2 years of experience in a data analysis role (including consulting, investment banking, etc)
