Community Engagement Manager

At Alma, we are redefining what it means to be part of a professional therapeutic community. Alma’s Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for designing events, partnerships, and programs that support genuine connection amongst our members and drive engagement with our Community ecosystem. You empathize with members, work hard to understand their needs, and work with your team to design and iterate on programming that both meets member needs and drives business objectives. You are rigorous about how you set up programs for success and take a data-driven approach to measure the impact of your work. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a comprehensive and inclusive strategy to increase community engagement through live virtual and async events, strategic partnerships, and programs that foster connection between members and grow Alma’s community of providers.
    • Create the playbook to scale community events, partnerships, and programs, driving consistent provider engagement.
    • Build processes and systems to execute our engagement strategy, seamlessly meeting budget and deadline constraints.
  • Devise initiatives, experiences, and products that actively engage providers, and encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and connection.
  • Develop a calendar of engaging events, including guest speakers, interactive activities, and wellness activities that are creative and targeted to the various needs of our members, identify business opportunities (e.g. new member engagement/churn mitigation, geo-specific and local meetups), and scale with our expanding membership.
    • Develop, collaborate, and consult on event content/curriculum.
  • Research, identify, and operationalize potential partnerships that drive meaningful benefits to our members wherever they are. Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities, negotiate terms, and secure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Work with our DE&I team to make sure we foster DE&I values in all that we do and build community programming.
  • Spend time with our members, develop genuine relationships, and identify members of our community to build with, not for, with the ultimate goal of cultivating community leaders and committees within our community.
  • Perform data-driven analysis on community metrics to measure the success of our programs, make recommendations, and surface themes to internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with Marketing to thoughtfully bring programs to market, drive adoption, and increase engagement with the Community.

Who You Are:

  • You have 3-5 years on a community, customer engagement, or marketing team building meaningful community programs. Bonus if you have experience leading virtual events.
  • You have extraordinarily high EQ. You’re a relationship-builder who is energized by others, eager to make connections with like-minded people, and able to quickly develop a strong rapport with both individuals and large groups.
  • You have strong experiential and technical acumen - you know how to create and produce thoughtful, engaging events and programs that deliver against strategic objectives and are tailored for the intended audience.
  • You’re organized, determined, and detail-oriented with strong project management skills where you can clearly prioritize your work.
  • You’re analytical and have quantitative problem-solving abilities - this means you can make your way comfortably around a Google sheet and synthesize insights from data.
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can surface problems, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
  • You’re independent - able to effectively handle ambiguous problems and challenges and drive your initiatives with minimal input.
  • You have a deep passion for our mission and the future of mental health.

Benefits:

  • We’re a remote-first company
  • Health insurance plans through Cigna (medical and dental) and MetLife (vision), including FSA and HSA plans
    401K plan (Roth and traditional)
  • Monthly therapy and wellness stipends
  • Monthly co-working space membership stipend

  • Flexible PTO

Salary Band: $100,000 - $125,000

Alma’s compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of building equity. To best ensure pay equity, we typically bring in new hires near the middle of our listed salary bands and we do not negotiate our compensation (i.e. all people hired at the same level & role are brought in at the same salary, equity, and benefits). The recruiter you work with can provide more details on our philosophy.

All Alma jobs are listed on our careers page. We do not use outside applications or automated text messaging in our recruiting process. An Insider's view of Alma

What projects are you most excited about?

We're all feeling the world starting to take mental wellness more seriously but it is still a space fraught with confusion & lack of understanding. It's exciting to think about the opportunities for innovation when it comes to helping people find the perfect therapist, simplifying access & affordability in a space that has been difficult to enter.

Nick

Chief Technology Officer

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

Alma has given me the trust, autonomy, and support to lead the Growth Team while consistently challenging me to evaluate the impact of all strategic decisions on the business both in the short-term and long-term. The opportunity to learn and grow is continuous as I work alongside passionate experts.

Ashley

VP, Growth

What is your vision for the company?

Mental health care is a very intimate and highly personal experience. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to high-quality care. At Alma, our job is to support providers and champion their expertise so they can focus on meeting clients where they are and partnering with them to achieve lasting results.

Dr. Harry Ritter

Founder and CEO

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

To be creative requires time to think big and trust from your manager to be brave in making big ideas happen. If weeks are frenetic with zero time for deep thinking, inertia will get in the way of innovation every time. And when big, bold bets come to the table, I emphasize that whether we succeed or fail, our learnings will be equally valuable.

Claire

VP, Marketing
