Job Description

The Director, Program Management, Content & Metadata will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the Content & Metadata Product portfolio in support of the Peacock technology roadmap and overall Content Experience for our Peacock app and our international joint ventures. This role will oversee a portfolio of programs, projects, and features focused on media supply chain projects, metadata, and content strategy. Success will require building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external business partners and technology teams to ensure the smooth delivery of features. We are looking for a strong leader in the Content Supply Chain and Metadata space who can help shape the supply chain of the future.
This position will report to the Vice President of Global Delivery. It will work in a highly matrixed structure, indirectly and directly managing global technology teams across NBC, Sky, and the wider Comcast group, as well as within multiple areas of the business, including Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams. This position will directly manage a team of project professionals and will require mentorship and career guidance for this team.

  • Ensure alignment between product, architecture, and the larger cross-functional landscape.
  • Regular liaison with resource managers to ensure resources and roadmap slots are secured and maintained; manage contention with other programs, projects, and features.
  • Lead the initiation and shaping phase of more significant feature initiatives. Work closely with engineers, architects, and analysts to coordinate, drive, and shape the business requirements that solidify the solution's definition.
  • Ensure regular status reporting across all projects and features, establishing the proper controls within the team to ensure accurate status, proactive risk management, and robust plans.
  • Act as the first point of escalation, providing assistance and guidance throughout the delivery
  • Build and drive a large virtual team across a widely distributed organization, ensuring clear communication, dependencies, and a well-articulated, understood, and managed committed roadmap and pipeline against available capacity.
  • Lead effective communication within internal and external stakeholders and delivery teams, and ensure that the broad teams are clear on goals and objectives.
  • Ensure quality is considered throughout delivery, working with QA and Trials teams to ensure outputs are thoroughly tested and proven before customer deployment and handed over to support.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in our processes and procedures and propose and implement changes in partnership with the broader team to ensure a productive and efficient organization.


Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent, a background in technology or engineering, a focus on digital applications, or relevant project or program management qualifications are a significant plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience leading major multi-discipline and complex technology deliveries, including at least 2 years experience as a program lead on Content and/or metadata-focused programs.
  • Broad knowledge of program and project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience with large cross-functional, user-facing projects involving third parties and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering technology change within the digital/OTT sector. Good understanding of the global media landscape.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Content Supply Chain + Metadata Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to speak to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to take complex technology discussions and break them down for non-technical groups.
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from multiple internal departments, external partners, and vendors.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with senior leadership.


Other Qualifications:

  • Strong self-starter, able to consistently deliver without requiring significant oversight and direction.
  • Solid political acumen, able to tailor style and approach to influence teams and individuals to gain the commitment and performance required to deliver on our promises.
  • Pro-active approach to delivery, identifying and neutralizing threats to success; a positive approach to addressing conflict.
  • Good working understanding of media technology systems; able to have meaningful discussions with technology experts.
  • Experience in the product development and the technology delivery process.
  • Previous experience working with remote delivery teams and international experience are considerable pluses.
  • Experience in OTT application delivery, advertising, media, streaming technology, A/B testing, or telecom technology
  • Highly articulate and confident communicator; passionate about delivering successful outcomes and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Calm under pressure, able to make quick and rational decisions and maintain the team's focus.
