About the Role

Dandy is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our rapidly scaling technology organization. You'll be challenged to learn new technologies, given the freedom and ownership to solve large, ambiguous problems, and drive significant technical advancements across engineering and product.

As a Staff Engineer on the Practice Admin team, you will play a key role in driving our practice-facing experiences forward and be a significant contributor in shaping our technical and product strategies.

What You'll Do

• Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity for your team.

• Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members while collaborating with the team on larger projects.

• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within the tech org to influence overall objectives and long-term goals of your team. 

• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact across your team and others.

• Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.

• Drive innovation on the team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope.

• Actively seek out difficult impediments to our efficiency as a team ("technical debt"), propose and implement solutions that will enable the entire team to iterate faster

• Provide mentorship for all Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high growth startup environment.

• Ability to understand how our business functions and how challenges and bottlenecks can be addressed through the Engineering team.

• A collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset. We are a small but mighty team and everyone must be aligned on our goals.

• The ability to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.

• Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.

• Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers and clear status updates.

• Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.

• Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to thrive in a remote-first organization.

Compensation Range: $230K - $257K
