Kickstarter is seeking an International Manager to engage and grow creative communities across Europe.
Kickstarter’s goal is to support creative culture and make it easier for people around the world to bring their ideas and projects to life. Our International Team focuses on growing and sustaining our community of passionate project creators and backers outside the US.

As a key member of this team, the International Manager for Europe will develop, plan, and execute a growth and engagement strategy to help bring Kickstarter’s mission across Europe. This position is based in Berlin or London and will include frequent travel within Europe as well as quarterly trips to Kickstarter’s HQ in Brooklyn. You will work closely with a variety of teams across Kickstarter, including the community outreach team, communications, and community support teams.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Building a data-driven, mission aligned strategy for vibrant, highly engaged communities of Kickstarter creators and backers in existing European markets (UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg)
  • Acting as the point person to coordinate efforts in Europe and aligning those efforts with Kickstarter HQ efforts
  • Identifying and developing brand-aligned partnerships to increase the pipeline of high-quality projects and creators from Europe
  • Speaking at and attending events relevant to Kickstarter’s community
  • Meeting and advising creators on projectsHiring and overseeing outreach consultants and PR firms in Europe
  • Advocating for international creator and backer needs internally at Kickstarter
  • Planning and managing any new launches in EMEA, from in-market research and hiring to cross-functional coordination across teams, message development, partnerships, PR and event planning
You are:
  • A proactive leader who values freedom to develop and execute on your own strategy with little oversight
  • Minimum 5 years work experience with demonstrated success working on international growth strategies
  • Excellent relationship builder who engenders trust through excellent communication, especially when working remotely
  • A strong project manager, with a commitment to data-driven and organized work
  • A multi-country specialist with deep knowledge of two or more countries in Europe, ideally with language skills
  • Kind, collaborative, calm, and flexible under pressure
  • A thinker, with a deep understanding of the creative world, the role Kickstarter plays in that ecosystem, and innovative ideas for how Kickstarter can shift it
  • Willing to travel frequently throughout Europe and to Brooklyn at least once a quarter
  • Passionate backer of Kickstarter projects; bonus points if you’ve run a project

We are open to candidates from all backgrounds, with major bonus points for French / Spanish / German language skills, a passion for both the arts and tech, and strong public speaking skills.
