BuzzFeed Tech is looking for a IT Video Specialist for our New York office to support our video content creators with Production, Post Production and other video-focused technology needs.

We run our own internal studio where we write, direct, and produce BuzzFeed content (News, Entertainment, Branded and Live video). We are looking for smart, skilled, passionate self-starters to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing collaboration with video content creation teams to provide technology solutions to meet their scaling/growing needs
• Define, research and implement hardware, software and cloud based video technology
• Troubleshoot and support video technology at all levels of use
• Train IT Team to provide tier 1 support for video creators/production/post production
• Work under Video Technology Manager to collaborate and implement standard solutions across multiple regional domestic and international offices

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge with Apple hardware and software (OS X / macOS + iOS Devices). Apple Certified Support Professional preferred.
• Able to confidently support BuzzFeed staff who are using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder)
• Solid knowledge of storage media including hard drives and related standards
• Working knowledge of production and post production processes
• Familiarity web platforms for video delivery (live and static) including YouTube, Facebook, Periscope and Instagram
• Experience with Live video production (RTMP) and audio/video signal path (Blackmagic hardware experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of video standards including codecs, resolutions, aspect ratios (H.264, ProRes/QuickTime, Web Formats)
• Ability to setup and support file transfer servers, platform and services including NAS devices, Media Shuttle, FTP, Google Drive, Dropbox.
• Understanding of networking and IP-based data transmission (1/10GbE, Fibre, WiFi, LTE, Fibre, Satellite)
• Must have great communication skills and be able to give and receive critical feedback gracefully
• Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and focused
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts
