The Role
MarketAxess is looking for a Middle Office Associate. This individual will join the Middle Office team and provide trade support to our sales department at various levels. The successful candidate will have keen attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving.
This role is a 6-month consultant assignment, and the schedule is from 1PM - 9 PM EST, Monday-Friday.
How You'll Help Take Us There
- Monitor trade flow and ensure post-trade processes are functioning properly including clearing and confirmation of transactions
- Address and resolve pending, unmatched and unallocated trades with brokers and customers prior to settlement date
- Work to effectively resolve discrepancies prior to settlement date
- Process trade allocations
- Monitor Obligation Warehouse, RTTM, CTM, OMGEO/ALERT, DTC ID and other industry tools for timely trade comparison
- Monitor regulatory reporting tools TRACE, MSRB for timely and accurate trade reporting; facilitate any discrepancies with clients and trading desks
- Address and resolve trade breaks with customers and brokers and make corrections in accordance with established processes and procedures
- Open new accounts to facilitate trade processing
- Participate in the testing of system enhancements
- Create and maintain departmental Policy & Procedures
- Liaise with Sales and Dealer Relationship Managers on all client/trading issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively resolve client issues/escalations
- Build and maintain a culture of trust, transparency, and integrity

- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-7 years’ previous Trade Support or Middle Office experience preferred
- Understanding of the fixed income markets
- Shadow systems experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of Industry platforms and tools (DTC ID, RTTM, Obligation Warehouse, TRACE & MSRB Reporting, etc.)
- Ability to work across functional teams, as well an individual contributor as needed
- Series 99 preferred; other licenses viewed as a strong positive
For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $40.00 USD to $45.00 USD per hour. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
