Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Conduct assessments of the risks associated with machine learning (ML) models, identify potential vulnerabilities, and propose effective strategies to mitigate such risks. Evaluate the conceptual soundness of ML model specifications, meticulously scrutinizing assumptions, inputs, testing procedures, implementation correctness, and the appropriateness and comprehensiveness of performance metrics and risk measures. Uphold the principles of explainability and accuracy in ML model specifications, ensuring that models are designed and implemented with precision and adherence to best practices. Foster collaborative partnerships with Machine Learning Engineers to ideate, design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and efficient ML models. Work with Finance and Risk professionals to proactively monitor the production usage and performance of ML models, and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to optimize efficacy and reliability. Conduct evaluations of market conditions and environmental factors that could impact the integrity and performance of ML models. Leverage expert knowledge and analytical acumen to provide prescient insights and strategies for model enhancement. Articulate document findings and recommendations for model improvements, employ eloquence and precision in written and verbal communication, and cater to diverse audiences, including senior management and other stakeholders. Engage in extensive exploration of complex ML problems, and share expert guidance with the broader modeling community on the appropriate use of ML techniques. Disseminate research findings on ML issues through presentations and foster engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance the field of ML in the context of risk management. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Model Risk Associate, Data Engineer, System Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Machine Learning principles, algorithms, and techniques; programming languages, including Python and SQL; ML libraries and frameworks, including Xgboost and Scikit-learn; model evaluation techniques, performance metrics, and best practices for assessing model performance; Data analysis; data visualization; data manipulation techniques, including missing value imputation, encoding categorical variables, and normalizing/transformation of features; and cloud computing platforms, such as AWS.
Job Location: 545 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07310. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
Full-Time. Salary: $160,000.00- $210,000.00 per year.
