Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
The Content Experience Delivery team builds systems that provide data at scale to teams across Disney Streaming. We implement reliable, high-request services that deliver data that helps power user experiences for Disney Streaming clients including Hulu, Disney+, Star+ and ESPN+, across web, mobile, and living room devices. We are looking for a software engineer who wants to build and operate these critical services that support all Disney Streaming users!

Responsibilities
- Craft software for backend systems using Java, Kotlin, Akka Streams, Terraform, and more, with strong software development fundamentals and strong design principles (object oriented or functional)
- Work with a team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process, without being dogmatic about technology choices
- Participate in the full-lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance)
- Take on a leadership role on the team, by being both a strong independent contributor, and supporting your teammates
- Design and build RESTful web services that make use of relational and/or NoSQL DBs
- Build automated testing at different levels (unit, integration, functional) and build resilient applications that handle failure gracefully
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor or above in Computer Science or another comparable field of study or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, delivering high-quality code
- You have strong backend experience with Java and Kotlin
- You have functional experience with AWS services (ECS, RDS, Kinesis, Lambda, etc.) or other cloud providers
Preferred qualification
- You have experience in working with CI/CD pipelines
- You're an expert in streaming frameworks
- You have experience in REST API semantics and idiosyncrasies

The hiring range for this position in New York is $142,600-$191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
