ROLE SUMMARY
The Platforms Architect & Product Line Lead will own the vision, strategy, architecture, development, lifecycle management, delivery, and operations for EP&S shared platforms & products. This leader will play a significant role in shaping how EP&S consumes and utilizes these centralized technologies and ensures EP&S teams are not developing redundant capabilities.
The Platforms Architect & Product Line Lead will be accountable for the delivery of common building blocks and platforms that can be leveraged across the EP&S organization and beyond to simplify and speed up delivery. Set standards and policy on available supported platforms, stand-up a Code Catalog and API gateway, and deliver common building blocks such as audit & logging, authorizations, and secrets management for consumption by EP&S and Digital Creation Centers.
This role will lead a team of Product Managers and Practice Leads with deep delivery, technical, and EP&S domain expertise including data engineers, software engineers, and software developers. The Lead will support the Product Managers and Practice leads in the definition of measurable objectives and key results (OKRs) that ensure the delivery of consumable products for our customers and that achieve desired performance, durability, cost, and useability outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring cross-functional influence, confidence in evangelizing development methodologies/standards and have a track record of delivering capabilities that are targeted at accelerating speed to market for Digital products and business applications across all domains.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Vision & Strategy:

 

  • Define and own vision, strategy, and roadmap for EP&S platforms and shared developer products to improve and transform engagements, operations, and experiences across all EP&S functions and self-service capabilities to our customers.
  • Understand industry and innovative technology trends to effectively prioritize and apply existing and emerging technologies to enable EP&S products and services supporting broader business processes.
  • Act as a visionary to facilitate strategic solutions and pursue novel technologies to meet business needs.
  • Partner across EP&S and Digital Architecture, to deploy and scale technologies supporting development operations, plug & play capabilities to EP&S solutions.

Solutions Delivery:

 

 

  • Develop EP&S platforms & products service catalog and create centralized repository for EPS& assets to be easily discoverable by key stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Develop and manage EP&S platforms strategy focused on business outcomes and ensure metrics are captured to enable ongoing measurement.
  • Operate and continuously improve on EP&S platforms and products. Examples of current portfolio: Autoflow, Ansible, terraform, authorization engine, API gateway, Backstage, and many custom inhouse developed products supporting end user facing services such as access review, request manager, and cloud consumption chargeback and reporting.
  • Own the budget, understand the cost, and manage the P&L of each platform and product.
  • Responsible for building EP&S's internal brand and presence and consistently showcasing and communicating accomplishments to stakeholders.
  • Create compelling and easy to digest content that simply communicates complex technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.

Solution Development:

 

 

  • Lead teams responsible for the design, development, implementation and management of EP&S platforms and products.
  • Collaborate with EP&S LT, Digital Architecture, Digital Creation Centers, and Client Partners and others to accelerate delivery and drive reuse of technologies and solutions.
  • Partner with Global Information Security on Future of Development to ensure EP&S Platform & Products leverage all security controls and capabilities

  • Lead EP&S Practices with direct and matrix'd team members across software development and automations.
  • Mentor, coach, guide, and grow leaders and team members creating strong collaborative and engaging culture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical/engineering discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership capacity with increasing scopes of responsibility
  • Technical knowledge of Cloud Services and Platform strategies
  • Experience guiding large scale enterprise projects with senior level stakeholders in cross-functional environments.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $172,100.00 to $286,900.00.
