Job Description
Block is looking for a Tax Analyst to join our team. You will report to our Income Tax Team and will be responsible for the preparation of Block's quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provisions. You will have the opportunity to work with cross functional teams and expand your corporate income tax knowledge as part of a fast growing company.
You will:
- Prepare Block's quarterly and annual worldwide tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Prepare income tax related disclosures, such as the income tax footnote for the 10Q/10K.
- Prepare Block's quarterly FIN 48 (uncertain tax position) workpapers.
- Prepare Block's quarterly non-GAAP tax provision.
- Prepare various memos quarterly to document the tax provision process.
- Prepare all other tax provision workpapers such as stock based compensation tax deduction calculations and deferred tax asset ("DTA") proofs.
- Prepare month-end and quarter-end balance sheet reconciliations for income tax accounts.
- Manage the tax provision timeline and work with cross functional teams to gather information needed for the provision.
- Gather and organize SOX documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of tax purchase accounting for acquisitions.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
- 2-4 years of income tax experience with a public accounting firm or equivalent experience.
- Experience preparing or reviewing tax provisions.
- Ability to work in Pacific Standard (PST) timezone, if working remotely.
