5 NYC startups that help other startups run their businesses

While many tech companies are founded to make people’s live simpler, some startups are created to make other companies run more efficiently. From tech-enabled offices to digitized human resources, here is a group of New York-based startups that other companies use to run and grow.

Justworks is a benefit and payroll company that provides a seamless payroll experience, affordable benefits and a comprehensive compliance coverage all in one product. Startups such as Casper, Qubit and Reboot all use the platform to help manage their HR needs.

 

Managed by Q is building a comprehensive technology and service platform that helps offices run more efficiently. Clients are set up with a free iPad that is installed on a wall in the office. Office managers or employees can then use the iPad to restock supplies, request cleaning services and manage anything else the office might need.

 

Poppin is an e-commerce site for office supplies. The startup sells everything from furniture to matching staplers, scissors and notepads, and has helped deck out the offices of major tech companies such as Warby Parker and Squarespace.

 

In need of an office makeover? Look no further than Homepolish, the startup that designs offices for some of New York’s coolest tech companies. The company was founded to make interior design more accessible and affordable to a tech-savvy clientele, which now includes companies like Venmo, Blue Apron, LearnVest, Hinge, ClassPass, Kickstarter, Rent the Runway, Giphy, Betterment, Contently, RebelMouse, The Flatiron School, Zady, Shoptiques, Paddle8, Grand Central Tech and Mic — to name a few.

 

Namely makes HR software that helps businesses manage performance reviews, payroll, benefits, workflow and approvals. The company is currently servicing tech companies such as Blue Apron, jwPlayer, The Motley Fool and 1stdibs.
