5 NYC startups about to break out of beta

Last week, Troops, a bot that lets you speak with your Salesforce data, launched out of beta on the heels of a $7 million funding. At its core, the new company is innovating enterprise workflows through messaging, biting at the future of how people use Salesforce with a focused, intelligent product.

While the technology industry is consistently, if not obsessively, thinking about the future, startups like Troops tend to to work in anticipation of the years and decades to come. Forging a path towards ‘the next big thing’ is the objective of many hopeful entrepreneurs, who act as pioneers to shake up established fields.

So we decided to take a look at the future of tech in New York City by rounding up a few promising startups that are still in beta. Take a look:

 


Nubi’s all-in-one platform allows users to create responsive websites and online stores within a matter of minutes. Aimed at entrepreneurs, artists, designers and small business owners, Nubi’s e-commerce features gives users hosting, a domain name and the tools to sell their products online. The platform’s drag and drop functionalities make website building simple and fun, and don’t require any coding experience.

 

Clarity Money provides insights into your finances. Using the platform, you can cancel and lower bills, receive loans, set up a savings account, monitor your daily spending, manage your subscriptions or even apply for a lower credit rate. 

 

Scarlet is the movie ‘Her’ in an app. This personal intelligent assistant works similarly to the operating system, ‘Samantha,’ that Joaquin Phoenix fell in love in the film, in that it helps user navigate their days. The app weaves a myriad of content together to brief its users throughout their regular routines,

 

GeeFi is a pocket-sized device with a built-in virtual sim card that provides worldwide high-speed 4G/LTE data for up to 10 devices. The product is working to eliminate the hassle of searching for wifi in public spaces, along with hefty roaming fees and slow download speeds, by providing unlimited high-speed internet worldwide for a low fixed cost.

 

Claire is an A.I. assistant that helps companies automate and control their corporate travel. The platform can be used by both management teams and employees that frequently travel, and integrates with Slack, Skype, Facebook and SMS to book travel. Claire provides personal assistance 24/7, solves logistical issues during employee trips and helps employers reduce travel costs.
