Each week, we offer a curated calendar of NYC’s top tech events. This week is all about transforming your tech dreams into a reality —  whether you’re shooting for that promotion or looking to branch out with your own startup. Check out our picks below or head over to our full events listings here.

February 2018 NY Tech Meetup and Afterparty, Feb. 6 at 7:00 p.m.

If you’re not already familiar with NYC’s self-proclaimed “biggest and longest-running” tech meetup, you should be. This event features demos as well as ample networking opportunities that have kickstarted careers and put startups (like Tumblr) on the map. Tickets and demo slots are limited, so sign you (and your friends) up now.

Hacknight at eBay, Feb. 7 at 6:00 p.m.

This event, hosted by Women Who Code, is all about making time for your passion projects. Either fly solo or pair up with others looking to get involved in something new and exciting — whatever works for you! The evening will be hosted at eBay’s lovely office, and snacks and drinks will be provided.

Entrepreneur’s Breakfast in Midtown NYC, Feb. 8 at 9:00 a.m.

Looking to get the tech juices flowing before you head to the office (including orange juice)? This meetup takes business seriously, and if you’re looking to take that next step in your career, checking out this group could be just the thing. As a bonus, your first time in attendance is free.

Art and the Internet Age: Mapping the Effect of the Digital World on Our Cultural Past and Present, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Do you ever wonder how the digital era is changing the way were think about and interact with art? These guys do too! At this event, Meural’s head of curation will moderate a panel of theorists, artists, and technologists as they discuss how our concept of art is evolving in the modern age, and what exactly that means. This evening sounds like a great way to impress a date.

Fishackathon New York 2018, a Global Sustainability Hackathon, Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Ignoring the fact that “Fishackathon” is impossible to say three times fast, you’ll want to check out this amazing meeting of technology and environmentalism. Here, techies will work together on developing solutions related to fish farming and sustainable agriculture.
