Calling all the single ladies: Bumble, the dating app that requires women to make the first move, is opening a coffee shop in SoHo.

Crain’s New York Business first broke the story about Bumble’s café, Bumble Brew, which will be a permanent fixture — not a pop-up location. A spokesperson for Bumble confirmed the report when contacted by Built In, but declined to provide any additional comment.

Bumble has more than 60 million users in 150 countries, but NYC makes up the biggest population of active Bumble bees at a whopping 40 percent, the company told Crain’s. Knowing how much their customers value human experiences and seeing firsthand how successful their pop-up, Hive, was in SoHo two years ago, Bumble Brew was a natural next move for the company in serving its customers.

Now for what’s on the menu:

Bumble Brew will be a coffee bar in the day and a wine bar at night. The café will serve croissants and pastries during the day and small plates such as farro salad and plates of prosciutto in the evening.

There will be no spaghetti or chicken wings served as small plates, Caroline Ellis Roche told Crain’s, because, you know, first dates.

The space is expected to serve 70 people, and there will be female chef demos, BFF parties, networking events, and of course, date nights.

Bumble, which is opening a new HQ and office in Austin in 2020, plans to expand the Bumble Brew concept to more cities.
