Understanding Patterns of Mass Violence with Data & Statistics, September 26th at 6:30 p.m.

The Human Rights Data Analysis Group is crunching the numbers on mass violence. This event will feature a talk that uses data to explore all sorts of horrible atrocities that occur around the world. 

Hacking Global Health London (a Warmup), September 27th at 6 p.m.

The Global Health Hackathon is put on by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a way to find innovative ways to develop predictive, personalized public health models. This particular event functions as a warm up for the main hackathon event, which will take place on October 7th in London. Go ahead, use your powers for good. 

Make It In Brooklyn: Innovation Summit, September 28th at 10 a.m.

This summit starts by focusing on real estate in the morning and then moves on to the good stuff — innovation — in the afternoon. There will be two panel discussions featuring practical advice for startups on how to maximize their chances for success in the Brooklyn ecosystem. There will also be a pitch competition.

Board Game Night, September 28th at 7 p.m.

The NYC International Software Engineers Meetup is hosting a board game night. Yup, a good old-fashioned and wholesome board game night. There’ll be Settlers of Catan, Risk, Monopoly, Hanabi and others for your enjoyment. 

AR Beyond Pokemon Go, September 29th at 6:30 p.m.

Pokemon Go introduced the world to augmented reality, but it turns out there’s a whole lot more going on in the industry than just gaming. Augment, Blippar and Samsung Accelerator will be on hand to tell you about how the technology is affecting far more than just video games.
