Enterprise software firm Celonis recently launched Celonis for Law Enforcement and Security Services, a product designed to assist public safety agencies with criminal investigations and everyday operations. Known as LENS, the offering connects information across multiple existing databases into a unified interface, allowing investigators to track links between records, case reports and emergency calls while automating administrative paperwork.

The system incorporates AI agents that review incoming materials, suggest connections and answer plain-language questions from users. To address privacy concerns, the platform adheres to German and European data protection standards, recording every search and modification in support of data protection and court reviews. Investigators maintain direct oversight by verifying any automated recommendations.

“AI should not be a black box, especially when it comes to public safety,” Bastian Nominacher, Celonis’ co-CEO and co-founder, said in a statement. “To better protect people, officers need to find the right connections in their data fast, and AI can help them do that. Citizens need to know their data is protected and only accessed within the law. Celonis LENS will deliver both, so agencies don't have to choose between effectiveness and speed and people’s rights.”

Organizations can deploy LENS on self-managed infrastructure or sovereign cloud environments, with options to select their own artificial intelligence models. Celonis, which maintains headquarters in Munich and New York City, is launching the tool in Germany ahead of rollouts in additional markets.
