Tipsy Trivia Mixer, October 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Get drunk — sorry, tipsy — with your coworkers! Company Combat is a networking event that pits NYC-based companies against one another in a variety of interactive challenges. At this particular event there’ll be trivia and flip cup, and it’s free to attend.

Principles and Mechanics of Term Sheets, October 13th at 4 p.m.

This event will go over the basic and more complex principles and mechanics of term sheets that are important for both entrepreneurs and investors to know. The session will be hosted by David S. Rose, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of New York Angels.

Web Development Science Fair, October 13th at 5 p.m.

This is kind of like the science fairs you remember from back in the day, only the students presenting are adults graduating from the Flatiron School and their projects are apps that they built. There’ll be an opportunity to hear from each student about what they built and to see the apps in action.

The Business of Food Logistics, October 13th at 6:30 p.m.

It turns out that food logistics is a difficult, complex business. This event will provide an intimate, inside look into how Blue Apron, Homer, OurHarvest and The Fresh Connection get it done. Obviously, there’ll be snacks, but you have to figure out how to get them from the snack table to your mouth.

Stop Motion Introduction Workshop, October 13th at 7 p.m.

This is a fast-paced introduction to stop motion video production. The class will focus on teaching students how to create stop motion video content on a low budget using a cell phone. How cool is that?

The Forgotten History of Data Visualization in News, October 17th at 6:30 p.m.

It turns out that publishing data in a visual form goes back — way back. This event will focus on a rich history of beautiful data-rich stories, charts, maps and more from newspapers dating back to the 17th century. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some inspiration for your 21st Century product.

That's it for this week. Check out the events page for a full listing of everything happening in NYC tech.
