Pomelo Care, a New York healthcare company focused on women and children, announced a $92 million round of Series C funding. The raise, spearheaded by Stripes, values the company at $1.7 billion as it works to reduce preterm births, NICU admissions and medical costs at scale.
The company’s platform provides 24/7 proactive care, leveraging data science and a multispecialty clinical team to identify early risks and give patients dynamic updates. Clinicians use Pomelo to provide personalized care with the help of patient insights and evidence-based playbooks to inform their clinical actions.
Working to build its virtual care solution beyond the maternity segment, Pomelo Care will invest its new capital in expanding its partnerships with health plans and employers nationwide. Alongside continuing to advance its maternity care model, Pomelo will extend its reach into areas such as reproductive care, pregnancy, pediatrics and hormonal health. Its goal is to improve healthcare access and outcomes while ensuring lower patient costs.
