1. The Pitch NYC, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The Pitch NYC is an event featuring 10 startups pitching their ideas and companies to a panel of judges, who will then critique the startups’ pitches and their business plans. Each startup interested in competing in the event will have less than three minutes to convince the judges why an investor should invest in their company. Participants will then undergo Q&A by the panel of five to six judges of various backgrounds, including leaders in technology, experts in business or managers of local venture capital or private equity firms. Investors and interested parties in the audience will have the opportunity to approach the startups at the networking opportunities before and after the pitch event.
2. Empire Angels Event Series – Bootstrapping 101, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
Securing outside financing is one of the biggest challenges for most startup founders. Perhaps the best solution is to avoid external fundraising altogether! The event will feature two founders who bootstrapped their way to startup success: Tze Chun, founder of Uprise Art, and Will Nathan, co-founder of Homepolish. The two founders will engage in a fireside chat on building sustainable businesses with creative financing.
3. In the Trenches with Search and Big Data Seminar, Nov. 18 at 7:30 a.m.

The panel will discuss projects, tools, challenges and insights from the perspective of data scientists working in the field.
