How do you “Do Good. Be Good.”? Is it the volunteering you do on the weekends? Is it helping your neighbor with the trash, or maybe donating your old clothes to the thrift store? Dom & Tom’s work with Tyson Foods Inc. reflects our company’s driving motto, “Do Good. Be Good.”
After donating 100 million pounds of food over the past 15 years, Tyson is making a new commitment to hunger relief. Announced in September 2015, Tyson is pledging $50 million in cash and in-kind donations over the next five years in the fight against hunger, with a special focus on innovative initiatives at the local level. You can learn more about their efforts at www.tysonhungerrelief.com.
Dom & Tom played a pivotal role in designing and developing a series of free digital arcade games to support Hunger Heroes, a campaign designed to bring attention to Tyson’s commitment to feeding children in need. Tyson had such great success with the Hunger Heroes video game campaign in previous years that this year, the company opted to work with Dom & Tom again to launch it on an even bigger scale. Audiences can help “Do Good. Be Good.” and become Hunger Heroes by buying select products at their local Sam’s Club and playing the games. And, there are some pretty sweet prizes involved.
D&T Interaction Designer Jill Petrowsky sketched designs for this year’s Hunger Heroes video game campaign, as she’d also done in previous years.
“I look forward to working with Tyson on the Hunger Heroes every year,” she said. “We get a chance to create a fun, interactive engagement for our audience and it’s always great to know that we’re helping people do good.”
Senior Account Executive Joseph Tancredi helped run the show here at D&T, along with social media specialists Lin Sabones and Grace O’Brien. Development team members William Bettencourt, Raidel Torres, Brandon Papworth and Anthony Sgueglia contributed to the project as well.
Besides the wonderful cause, what else can audiences expect from the newly launched version of Hunger Heroes? Sweet prizes, and even better games to play. The games are hosted on both good ol’ Facebook, and a specially created microsite. Those who prefer Facebook can locate the appropriate post on the Club Tyson fan page and follow directions provided, while all others can visit the microsite directly.
Those who want to fight child hunger by becoming Hunger Heroes play the games as many times as they’d like. Prizes include Tyson-branded key tags, bottle openers, chicken squeeze stress relievers, sunglasses, and the ever-popular light up yo-yo. (Full sweepstakes rules are available here.)
So, what do you have to lose? Play awesome games and win cool prizes, all while helping children in need. It’s time to “Do Good. Be Good!"
