How Entrepreneurs Should Utilize the World of Snapchat

At first, Snapchat with its self-deleting photos won favor amongst the teens and college students who wanted to share their escapades with one another (for better or worse).

Now your parents use it.

Your teachers use it...
Your local police officers use it.
Almost everyone has that little ghost in his or her phone sharing their daily stories. So, could it be good for your business?
In one word, yes. Generations today governed by FOMO (fear of missing out) spike the usage of Snapchat. Most users are 18-24 years old. If using the app for your business interests you, then there is great potential for a broad audience.
That does not mean it is the easiest thing to do. The appeal with Snapchat, as mentioned above, was that the content you share disappears with a poof after so many seconds/hours.
Awesome! However, that poses the challenge of providing enough engaging content that will inevitably vanish poof after poof.
If that does not daunt you, then big props to you! Here are some ways to get down to business using Snapchat.
  • Sneak peeks

Do not let your viewers miss out on your special moments. Getting videos of “behind the scenes” tidbits and scoops are used by many (example: Youtubers and bloggers) to get their followers involved in current events. It is an excellent way to generate feedback, too.

  • Incentives

Use Snapchat for giveaways and flash sales to gain more traffic. The nice part about doing this brings us to another point.

  • Demos

While it can take an extra step or two to make sales with Snapchat, it is very useful when it comes to putting your product to the test and allowing people to see how it works. You can make it a point to have individual postings for this, or you can do this subtly over time.

  • Connections

Finding influencers who like what you have to offer and want to share it with others is an awesome opportunity. If someone wants to collaborate, it can be a huge step in the right direction.

Most importantly, make sure to download your story every day so you can repurpose it on Instagram, Youtube, or somewhere else.

Also, don't forget to consider designing and submitting Snapchat Geofilters here.  I'll save those for another blog post.

If you are a fan of Snapchat and are down to explore the possibilities, then go for it. One of the finer things with Snapchat is that no one knows where it is going to go or what updates it will receive in the future. So get snapping with your little ghost friend.
