This startup is feeding the needy with photos of your food... seriously

The title might seem impossible, and to some degree it is.  You cannot feed people photographs as sustenance.  But Andrew Glantz has found a work-around.  He partners with restaurants, so that when people take a picture of their food on his app (GiftAMeal) they make a donation to a local food pantry/shelter.

GiftAMeal is essentially a corporate social responsibility platform in a box.  Restaurants and patrons feel good knowing that they are helping to feed people in their community and those in need are obviously benefiting from the charity.  To be clear, GiftAMeal is only donating the money to needed so that food is stored, prepared, and delivered.  They are not paying for all aspects of each donated meal.  Even so, simply taking a picture of your food is still a small price to pay to help your community.

But this is not all that Andrew and GiftAMeal have going for them.  They are investing heavily in gaining customer analytics, building up a referral system, and finding new ways to aid those in their community.  Andrew is just coming off winning two huge awards, The Audience Choice Award and The Best Explained Video Award, at RECESS in LA.  The link to the video is provided below.
