“They say that if you get to be featured at Technori, it means that you’ve made it”
For those firms lucky enough to have graced the stage, it seems to be true. Since Technori started their featured firms have raised a total of $252 million in funding. This number is incredible, and puts a lot of pressure on each presenter to ensure that they make their 5 minute pitch perfect. So what is it like going through a Technori?
I had the pleasure of interviewing Xaptum who was featured in May’s Technori, and their presentation coach Katie Lord. Together they remarked how their presentation humbly started in a conference room talking through what they wanted to get across. Katie reflected that “we started just talking about what Xaptum is, and recorded our words on my iPhone”.
From there they drilled down to exactly what they wanted to get across. Brian Gratch, Xaptum’s CMO, remarked that “Katie’s biggest help came in synthesizing our presentation into three slides… it was vital to make our pitch easy to understand”.
