As a Staff Network Engineer at D-Wave, you'll design, implement, and maintain networking infrastructure, manage AWS environments, and ensure network security, while mentoring junior team members.

Develop and maintain backend services for the Leap quantum-classical cloud platform. Deliver features across the SDLC, improve system performance and scalability, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, participate in code reviews and on-call rotation, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship reliable, high-quality software.

Lead design and development of software that interfaces with quantum processors, supporting calibration, hardware interfaces, testing, monitoring, and operational infrastructure. Drive architecture, optimize performance, mentor engineers, run technical investigations, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure QPU solver availability on the Leap cloud platform.

Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the Leap quantum-classical hybrid cloud platform. Collaborate with product owners and architects across the SDLC to deliver features, troubleshoot and tune production systems, write clean maintainable code, participate in code reviews and on-call rotation, and mentor junior engineers to improve engineering practices and platform scalability.

Lead end-to-end development of high-value U.S. government proposals for quantum hardware R&D. Identify funding opportunities, build business cases, coordinate cross-functional teams for budgeting/resourcing, ensure compliance and submission quality, integrate AI tools compliantly, and engage government program managers while tracking federal spending and competitor activity.
