Nova 401(k) Associates Benefits Overview

Build and maintain Python automations and multi-system integrations for 401(k) administration. Responsibilities include developing API and webhook integrations, managing production jobs, troubleshooting errors, refactoring legacy code, deploying projects, improving logging and code quality, documenting processes, and collaborating with business users, vendors, and IT. The role requires ownership of automation projects from discovery through production and focuses on resilient, scalable workflow improvements.

Reviews retirement plan administration work, including nondiscrimination testing, trust accounting, Form 5500, contribution calculations, and safe harbor compliance. Interprets plan documents, monitors ERISA and Internal Revenue Code developments, provides feedback and training to junior staff, and supports process improvement and client service projects. This is a fully remote quality assurance role without a client base.

Manage a portfolio of current and delinquent 401(k) administration clients, guiding them through prior-year compliance work and corrective actions. Coordinate timelines, deliverables, internal teams, and client calls while maintaining relationships with principals, advisors, attorneys, and CPAs. Responsibilities include ensuring plans achieve compliance, managing special projects independently, and applying advanced knowledge of retirement plan nondiscrimination testing, controlled groups, and mergers and acquisitions.
