Build and operate Retool’s production agent platform across product, infrastructure, and evaluation layers. Design agent prompting, context construction, retrieval, routing, tool use, sandboxing, and evaluation systems. Diagnose nondeterministic failures, improve reliability and safety, and partner on workload provisioning and deployment across cloud and self-hosted environments. Mentor engineers and establish standards for dependable agentic products.

Own the reliability and quality of AI-powered features in production. Design prompting, retrieval, routing, tool-use strategies, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, fallbacks, and regression detection for non-deterministic systems. Diagnose hallucinations, instruction drift, and context sensitivity while balancing quality, cost, latency, and robustness. Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to establish quality standards and ship dependable AI products.

Build Retool’s automation platform, including Workflows and Agents, orchestration engines, execution infrastructure, AI integrations, and developer tooling. Design scalable distributed systems, collaborate with product and design, own projects from architecture through launch and iteration, improve platform reliability and performance, work with customers, and mentor engineers.

You will improve Retool's core editor, enhance platform performance, debug issues, and collaborate with teams on feature development.

As a Software Engineer at Retool, you will enhance the core editor's UX, work on application scalability, debug customer issues, and assist in recruiting engineers, all while collaborating closely with product and design teams.

Drive architectural design of backend services, ensure security and efficiency, and manage production services on AWS EKS.

Operate and improve reliability across Retool Cloud, managed, BYOC, and self-hosted deployments. Automate provisioning, upgrades, migrations, and secret rotations. Build observability and safer deployment/rollback workflows, partner with product teams, and produce runbooks, docs, and migration guides to reduce customer toil and scale operations.

As a founding member of the Observability team, you'll build and integrate observability solutions, ensuring system reliability and performance while mentoring others and driving automation.

Develop and define Retool’s brand voice across websites, campaigns, content, events, and in-product experiences. Partner with design, marketing, product, engineering, and external agencies to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling copy. Establish voice and tone systems, maintain brand consistency, experiment with new language, provide creative feedback, and independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Lead and scale Retool's AMER events and field marketing program, managing internal and external events, a team, and budget. Partner with GTM, PMM, Content, and RevOps to drive pipeline, measure event ROI, and execute experiential projects like dinners, roadshows, launches, and conferences.
