Supports Talcott’s Investment Management Team with portfolio analysis, investment data aggregation, credit-quality monitoring, risk assessment, investment opportunity evaluation, and reporting for senior management. The intern also assists with identifying emerging credit risks and underwriting and surveillance activities for private credit and private equity investments. This is a ten-week hybrid summer internship in New York, including training, workshops, networking, and exposure to senior leadership.

Leads enterprise treasury strategy, liquidity and capital planning, debt management, banking relationships, funding, collateral management, and treasury risk oversight. Partners with Finance, Investments, Risk, Actuarial, Corporate Development, and executives on capital allocation, balance-sheet optimization, financing transactions, forecasting, governance, and regulatory requirements. Presents analyses to executives, boards, regulators, rating agencies, and auditors while guiding treasury technology and service-provider initiatives.

Provide legal counsel on capital markets and treasury matters, including debt and equity offerings, credit facilities, liquidity solutions, funding products, and intercompany lending. Draft and negotiate offering documents, purchase agreements, legal opinions, comfort letters, engagement letters, and term sheets. Support compliance and disclosure obligations, advise senior treasury leadership, and oversee outside counsel.

Design and develop strategic asset allocation tools for $50B+ in insurance general account assets. Build portfolio optimization, scenario analysis, and asset deployment models; understand and validate SAA, optimization, and ALM models; use AI-assisted development; and collaborate with investment, actuarial, enterprise risk, and corporate development teams. Prepare investment committee materials and communicate model methodologies, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Supports the Treasurer in executing capital markets, structured financing, institutional funding, liquidity, and capital management initiatives. Responsibilities include financial modeling, debt issuance support, funding agreement administration, cash flow forecasting, stress testing, capital analysis, rating agency materials, investor communications, banking relationships, covenant tracking, and cross-functional coordination across Finance, Tax, Legal, Investments, Operations, Actuarial, and Risk. The role also provides execution support for FABN programs and manages related reporting and documentation.

Leads enterprise-wide programs within Talcott’s PMO, overseeing plans, budgets, risks, governance, stakeholder alignment, and delivery outcomes. Partners with executives, Finance, Actuarial, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive transformational initiatives across insurance and reinsurance. Champions process reengineering, automation, AI-enabled delivery, change management, and continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory, financial, and operational requirements are addressed.

Owns enterprise risk management reporting and analytics focused on liquidity and financial risks. Responsibilities include liquidity stress testing, exposure monitoring, risk appetite assessment, management and committee reporting, contingency funding support, model governance, documentation, and audit or regulatory examination support. The role interprets complex risk data, identifies emerging risks, presents actionable insights to senior stakeholders, and improves reporting processes.
