Summer 2026 Agency Operations (Project Management / Finance) Internship

New York, Durham

At McKinney, we believe in creating unfair attention for brands. Behind every breakthrough campaign is a team making sure the work is scoped correctly, stays on track, and delivers against the business. That’s where Agency Operations comes in.

We’re looking for detail-driven, organized, business-minded problem solvers to join us for Summer 2026.

If you’re the kind of person who loves building systems, tracking moving pieces, managing budgets, and turning complexity into clarity — we want to meet you.

This isn’t a coffee-run internship. You’ll work on real projects with real teams for real clients.

What You’ll Do

Partner with account, creative, strategy, media, and production teams to keep projects running smoothly

Assist with building timelines, tracking deliverables, and maintaining project documentation

Support scope development, estimates, and budget tracking

Help monitor hours, burn rates, and financial reporting across active projects

Participate in project kickoffs, status meetings, and internal reviews

Identify risks, flag potential bottlenecks, and help propose solutions

Learn how agency workflow systems operate and support operational best practices

Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and collaboration

Who You Are

A rising junior, senior, recent grad, or graduate student pursuing business, finance, marketing, operations, communications, or a related field

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills

Comfortable working with numbers, budgets, and spreadsheets

A clear communicator who can balance diplomacy with directness

Naturally proactive — you anticipate issues before they become problems

Interested in how creative ideas connect to timelines, resourcing, and financial realities

Collaborative, adaptable, and energized by fast-paced environments

What You’ll Gain

Hands-on experience managing real agency projects and financial workflows

Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and revenue tracking

A deeper understanding of how agencies operate from both project management and finance perspectives

Mentorship from experienced project managers and finance leaders

Insight into cross-functional collaboration across creative, strategy, and client service teams

A strong operational foundation that supports any future path in the industry

A network of teammates who will champion your growth

Our Point of View

We’re committed to building a culture that reflects the world we’re speaking to. We strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to apply. Different perspectives strengthen our processes — and our partnerships.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary of  $18/hour for up to 40 hours/week.

Right to Work in the US

You must be authorized to work in the US for any employer. At this time, we are not providing or sponsoring assistance with obtaining work authorization.

We are in the office Tuesday – Thursday. We look forward to meeting you!

Ready to help build something iconic — from the inside out?

Submit your video, resume, and a brief note telling us why you’re interested in Agency Operations and what draws you to project management and/or finance.

Dates:

The Summer 2026 program runs from June 3 – August 12.
We start all employees on Wednesdays

Let’s build brands people care about — and the systems that make it possible.
