About the Program
The summer associate program at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP (BLB&G) allows law students the opportunity to join our small case teams that handle high-stakes securities fraud litigation, while focusing on our important mission of holding corporate wrongdoers accountable. You’ll join a team of industry-leading attorneys who come to work each day to fight for the integrity of the markets and for the public good.
About the Role
As a BLB&G summer associate, you will have the opportunity to perform the same work undertaken by the Firm’s junior associates in litigating securities fraud matters within our case teams. You will make meaningful contributions and have real responsibility right away, rather than performing busywork.
In this role you will work with our Case Development and Litigation teams within our Securities practice, and will become immersed in our cases through activities such as:
· Participating in case analysis activities
· Attending and participating in case strategy meetings
· Assisting in motion practice, amending complaints, and court filings
· Participating in deposition preparation and attending depositions
· Performing case research and drafting legal documents
BLB&G fosters an entrepreneurial environment where our attorneys and legal support departments think critically and creatively about potential legal claims and litigation strategy. In addition to working side-by-side with our junior and senior associates, counsel and partners, you’ll interact with a variety of our legal-support departments, including financial analysts, investigators, paralegals, and e-discovery professionals.
During your first few weeks at BLB&G you will attend a series of formal training sessions that will give you practical guidance and real-life applications of relevant law which will prepare you to make valuable contributions to our cases. Following your training, you will join our case teams and will spend the rest of summer focused on substantiative legal work.
We understand that personalized support and feedback are critical to your development and career growth. You will be assigned associate and partner mentors who will provide you with guidance on your work, help you cultivate key relationships, and navigate the firm. With your mentors you can discuss questions surrounding legal research, firm policy, day-to-day concerns, and long-term career goals. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the firm’s internal professional development programs which empower our attorneys with the skills and training required to build successful legal careers.
BLB&G Summer Associates are paid a weekly salary of $3,558 plus a $5,000 signing bonus.
