The Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program. The program includes training, direct work experience, professional development, and a weekly speaker series.  
 
The Whitney’s Fall internship program is a full-time, paid, nine-week session primarily for undergraduate students. The internship is hybrid, with some onsite work. For Fall 2026, interns commit between 16–21 hours per week over 10–12 weeks for a total of 176 hours. The program will begin on September 15, 2026, and end on December 5, 2026 (this may vary depending on schedule). Participants must be available Monday through Friday for nine consecutive weeks, five days per week. Interns are assigned to a specific department at the Museum for the duration of the internship.

The Whitney seeks a Digital Content Intern for Fall 2026. 
Expected Projects & Assignments
Digital Content oversees the Museum’s website, video, and social media channels. Interns will focus on content strategy and execution. We’re seeking an applicant with a strong interest in media production (video, photo, audio). 
  • Aid department in all aspects of content production for video, web, social
  • Pitch, plan, and create short-form videos for social media
  • Participate in department planning for upcoming exhibitions
  • Do archival and historical research for documentary-style video projects
  • Assist with livestreaming, interview transcription, and asset management
Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have experience using Adobe Creative Suite, notably Adobe Premiere
  • Passion for modern and contemporary art, storytelling, and media production
  • Eagerness to learn new skills quickly
  • Strong, clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Interest and previous experience with video and audio production

  • Media production from inception to completion
  • Project and asset management

  • Learn to create impactful content that fulfills the Whitney’s mission and reaches audiences both online and at the Museum

Compensation
Interns will be paid a stipend of $3000.
