We’re seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to guide students throughout their educational experience. In this role, you’ll provide personalized academic guidance, build strong relationships, and help students stay on track to achieve their goals.
What You’ll Do- Provide academic advising and support to your assigned student population
- Welcome new students and reinforce expectations for success
- Guide students on degree plans, course scheduling, and time-to-completion
- Monitor student progress, participation, and academic performance
- Identify at-risk students and provide proactive support
- Develop and track student success plans to help students overcome challenges
- Assist with course registration, schedule changes, and enrollment updates
- Help resolve academic issues, including instructor communication or course-related concerns
- Connect students with resources such as tutoring, library services, or faculty support
- Partner with instructors and staff to support student needs
- Clearly explain academic policies, processes, and expectations
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure confidentiality
- Respond to student inquiries promptly and professionally
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in academic advising or student support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information systems
- Student-focused mindset with a high level of integrity

Job Purpose:
Academic Advisor (AA) will provide all of the tools and resources necessary for students to perform well
academically and be successful in their courses. Expert knowledge of all school policies and procedures
along with strong relationship building and problem solving skills are requirements for this student focused
position. AA’s are key players in identifying potential process changes and training opportunities within
the department which will improve overall student satisfaction and retention as well as reinforce the
college mission and vision.
Skills/Qualifications: · Must possess expertise in the assigned field of study through educational background and/or experiance · Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required and a Master’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred · Two years experience working in an online college · Profecient with Microsoft Office suite and email · Member of the National Academic Advising Associataion · Outstanding telephone skills · Ability to multi-task and to succeed within strict timelines · Exemplary level of integrity · Strong detail orientation and organizational skills · Strong communication skills · Proven ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and faculty · Variable hours with some evening and weekend work · Must have bachelor’s degree or higher · Ongoing student focus
