Conducts first calls with founders raising capital, qualifies their fundraising needs, explains the company’s investor-access platform, and books next steps. Manages the sales pipeline through signing, passing, or re-engagement. Runs demos and closes platform-tier deals, maintains accurate founder records, and provides written handoffs to the closing team. The role emphasizes consultative selling, honest expectation-setting, and sound judgment when determining whether the company can help.

We are hiring an Account Executive, Venture Capital to run the first conversation founders have with Pairs, and to turn the right ones into clients.

Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.

THE ROLE

You sell to founders, not to funds. Every call is with a founder in the middle of a raise.

You take that first call. You learn the round, the traction, the runway and what has not worked so far, and you decide whether we can genuinely help.

When we can, you explain how Pairs works, what it costs and what it does not do, and you book the next step before the call ends. When we cannot, you say so plainly.

Some founders are better served by our platform tier. For them, you run the demo and close it yourself.

We sell access to investors, not promises. The expectations you set on the first call are the ones we deliver against, so honesty is part of the job.

You will work directly with the two co-founders and our closing team. The organisation is flat, so you will see first-hand how we screen companies, what we decline and why.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • First calls. Every founder you speak to leaves with a clear picture, whether or not they work with us.

  • Qualification. The judgement on who is raising, who can decide, and who we can actually help.

  • The handoff. A next step booked on the call, and a written read for the person who runs it.

  • Your pipeline. Every founder you speak to, kept current until they sign, pass or come back.

YOU ARE A FIT IF YOU

  • Have carried a target and can walk us through a deal you won: the hesitation, what you said and what happened.

  • Have sold to founders or executives, ideally in fundraising, finance or venture.

  • Understand a round well enough to ask the second and third question, not just the first: structure, lead interest, runway, why investors pass.

  • Set expectations you can stand behind. You never promise an outcome, and you would rather lose a deal than oversell one.

  • Can tell a polite yes from a real one, and take a no without losing the relationship.

  • Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A fully remote role, with working hours that overlap US Eastern time, where most of our founders are

  • Direct access to the co-founders and our closing team

  • Close collaboration with our internal team

  • A sales process that already works, and recorded calls to learn it from

  • Insight into how we screen companies and match them with investors

  • A base salary plus commission
