About Metal

Metal is building the world's most powerful intelligence platform for private market investors, putting cutting-edge AI in the hands of the most sophisticated firms on the planet. In private markets, one thing defines success: the quality of your investment outcomes. Metal is the infrastructure-first platform built to sharpen every decision and build conviction across the full deal lifecycle, from sourcing to exit.

We're growing fast. Top-tier firms like Clearlake Capital, Berkshire Partners, Court Square, and dozens more already run on Metal to move faster and invest smarter. Adoption is compounding, the category is ours to define, and we're backed to win it. Our team is sharp, low-ego, and obsessed with the people we build for. We take ownership of hard, ambiguous problems and we move fast.

If you want to shape how the best firms in private capital actually think and decide, we'd love to meet you.

The role

You'll own a book of mid-market private capital accounts. Smart, sophisticated firms with sharp deal teams and real urgency to rebuild their investment processes around AI. You'll generate, progress, and close pipeline across this segment, running a full book to a high bar. How you close matters as much as how much.

You'll sell to some of the sharpest buyers in the market. Deal partners, principals, operating partners, and Heads of Platform at the firms defining private capital. They're rigorous, time-poor, and allergic to fluff, and winning them is the whole game.

This is a closing role on a small, high-output team. The motion exists. You'll learn it fast, run it well, and make it sharper. The best Account Executives at Metal are operators in their own right. They prospect with intent, run tight discovery, multi-thread early, and never let a cycle drift.

You'll work directly with the CEO and founding team on a business where your wins are felt across the company and will quantifiably help us advance our mission.

What you'll own

  • Owning the full cycle from first conversation through signature

  • Running tight discovery that makes pain real, not surface-level

  • Multi-threading across firm leadership, technical leads, deal teams, and operating partners from the first meeting

  • Maintaining a clean forecast and being honest about what's real

  • Feeding the product team specific, structured input from every call so what we build keeps getting sharper

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • 3 to 6 years closing SaaS deals with a track record of hitting your number. Early-stage experience is a plus, not a requirement. We care more about how you sell than how long you've sold.

  • High agency. You've taken a process from rough to repeatable with minimal coaching, and can show how.

  • Disciplined at making pain real. You go three layers down. Why does this matter, who actually cares, what breaks if it doesn't get solved.

  • Strong pipeline generation instincts. You don't wait for leads. You build them.

  • Forecast discipline. Your number is your number.

  • Comfort selling to senior, skeptical buyers in demanding environments.

Strong pluses

  • Direct experience selling into private equity, private credit, or private capital firms

  • AI-native in how you work. Agents, workflows, prospecting systems, account plans. Show us what you've built.

  • Prior life as an investor, operator, or analyst inside a PE/PC firm

  • Former founder

  • Existing relationships in the PE landscape

What success looks like

In your first quarter, you'll have full command of your book, a clear point of view on where the highest-conviction deals are, and an active pipeline you built yourself.

By the end of your first year, you'll have hit quota, contributed to the playbook the next AE inherits, and earned the trust of the founding team to take on more.

Compensation

  • OTE: $220K to $320K, depending on experience

  • Meaningful early equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
